Workshop Description

Dr. H.G. Strickland challenges the church to not only engage with but be powerful in a post-Christian culture. Are we more concerned with winning arguments than hearts, being right than righteous, and putting more effort in reforming the kingdom of darkness than advancing the Kingdom of God? This course is a practical study exploring the challenge of righteous living while navigating the moral complexities of the ever-changing post-christian world. The student will learn to examine and engage with the cultural, political and societal issues of the day by developing a personal template from the example of Christ. This course will not provide all of the right answers, but it will challenge the student to start asking the right questions. Are we more concerned with being right than being righteous? Do we understand the difference? Then the student will be given tools to build bridges to the community while navigating the culture and staying committed to the Kingdom. Course Objectives: The student will gain an understanding of what it means to walk in righteousness. They will learn to discern between righteousness and morality. They will learn to identify and deal with their personal Tree of Knowledge. They will learn how to determine whether to instruct in righteousness or function as an ambassador in reconciliation to unbelievers. They will gain practical knowledge in dealing with the issues of the day. They will learn to navigate the culture, build bridges to the community, learn to use accepted knowledge to bring people to the Truth, and to connect people’s present experience with the revelation they want to bring.
